Medicis Honolulu Music Jazz

Though Medici's is a fully functional, separate entity from the Manoa School Of Art And Music, their fates are intertwined. Tim and Carolyn Stanton are co-owners of both facilities, and Carolyn is the music director for the school. Tim is a renowned artist and art teacher, but also did much of the construction for the club, as well as providing the nightly food fare for the primary club events.

All of Medici's profits go to helping fund the day to day needs of the school as well as help with future expansion. The school is currently bursting at the seams with over 250 students and 14 teachers. Five new sound proofed and fully equipped teaching rooms, as well as a full featured art loft, are drawn up and ready to build.

The combination of a modern music school as well as a beautiful performance venue, allows us to provide an all in one culture of music that is core to the school's philosophy. Former students and current teachers are featured regularly in our array of performance events. Visiting music masters as well as exceptional talent fostered by the school, all have a perfect venue to come together and help cultivate a musical ethos that is a primary purpose of the school.

Why we Teach Music:

  • Not because we expect you to major in music
  • Not because we expect you to sing all your life
  • Not so you can relax, not so you can have fun

But so you will be...human. So you will recognize beauty. So you will be sensitive. So you will be closer to an infinite beyond this world. So you will have something to cling to. So you will have more love, compassion, gentleness, good--in short, more life!

Of what value will it be to make a prosperous living unless you know how to live? - Anonymous
